November Schedule

November Schedule:

When you drive down the back roads,  you see these beautiful country churches nestled in the pines of NC.  This has inspired this collection for the Christmas season.  I left a light on in the church, the choir is singing and all are welcome.  Lets remember this during the holidays.

October Schedule 2018

                                   October Schedule 2018

The weather is changing and the colors of copper will change with it.  So many things affect the Raku firing  process.  When the temperature cools down and the humidity level lowers, the glaze reacts differently thus creating new patterns of color.  Raku is a bit of chemistry and a bit of art.  I think that is why I love Raku so much.

Schedule: June and July

Schedule:  June and July

This is a new piece with Bysmith on top.  I love this crystal formation because of the geometric crystals and color.  It is a man made crystal.  It seems to me that it was created just to go with my raku vessel.  The colors of the crystal and the colors of copper in the raku are in harmony.  As well as art festivals, my work can be seen in the gallery: Seagrove Pottery of the Sand Hills, Pinehurst, NC

Raku Lantern
Sometimes the fire is the magic and in this case it is true.  You can see how the fire flamed up this piece, bringing out all of the colors of copper.  I love it when the blues and coppers merge.  Nature is my inspiration in its color, texture and form.  Raku combines the earth, wind and fire, connecting my work back to nature.  This lantern stands 18" with cut work.

Spring 2018

Spring 2018

Spring Schedule 2018

Sometimes, the fire is magic when firing in the raku process and in this case the fire brought out the beautiful blues and copper.  I am working this winter on new ideas for clay.   I love to work in clay because if you dream it, you can figurer out a way to build the clay piece.  You can add texture and carvings, which gives the piece depth and design.  Then the magic of the fire will hopefully bring the piece to life.   Each piece is fired individually, thus making a unique statement in clay.
