                                                                     Raku Conch Shell

They are made and ready for you!  If  you love walks along the beach and the beauty of natures designs, then these are for you.  Each shell is hand thrown, cut and sculpted into this form, inspired from a natural shell.  The raku process creates all of the rich colors of copper when each shell is fired.

     I am thinking of summer and warm sand beaches.  This conch shell started with a hand full of clay and was transformed into a conch shell with all of the beautiful colors of copper.  The magic of the fire in raku brings out all of these amazing colors.  Spring has been a very busy time, now that the weather is warmer.  I have been able to make some new and interesting pieces and raku them.  I hope that you will come and visit me at one of my summer art festivals and see my work.
     My work   was on the cover of Sunshine Artist Magazine in Oct 2014.  If you would like to see a copy of the article, I will be glad to send you one.

May and June Schedule, 2014

2014 has started out very cold so what could warm your thoughts more than a trip to shore.  Think of the warm sunshine on your shoulders and the waves breaking on the sand.  All of the sudden your eye catches the copper conch shell that has washed up.  These were my thoughts when I created this hand thrown raku conch shell.  Think warm thoughts!  Come see this and other new raku pieces at any of the following festivals.
